Hi, I'm Angalee.

I'm prompt, clean and super organized. I value efficiency, but like to be thorough and capture all the details. I have a talent for directing a crowd and making things happen, all while keeping a smile on my face. I've invested thousands of hours and dollars into my photography education and equipment, so I'm able to deliver a professional product to my clients. In addition, I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and corporate communications, with an emphasis in public relations. My collegiate experience adds to my repertoire of professional skills, helping me better discover and understand my clients' goals and needs. My ultimate goal is to provide a stress-free experience for my clients--from scheduling, to shooting, to delivery. I want to give you beautiful images that will be loved and cherished for a lifetime.

My Story...

In January 2010, I delivered a stillborn baby girl early in my second trimester. Those were the days before everyone had smart phones with cameras. At that point, I didn't even have a decent point-and-shoot. A friend loaned me her DSLR so I could take some photos in the hospital before we said goodbye. The images weren't anything spectacular; because, of course, it's not the camera that makes the image, it's the photographer. That event was a turning point for me. I knew I never again wanted to be without the knowledge, ability or gear to be able to capture the important moments in my life.

A few days later, I walked into Best Buy and purchased my first little DSLR. It was a Nikon D90 with a kit lens. From that moment on, I began shooting everything. I researched and learned all I could. I watched hundreds of hours of training videos and read dozens of educational blogs. With the help of the internet, a few mentors along the way, and a lot of trial and error, I've learned how to upload photos, create websites, shoot in manual mode, edit in photoshop and use studio lighting. It's been a ton of work, but I've learned that the only way to improve is through education and by constantly practicing what I learn.

Shortly after I started shooting, I began sharing my work on my family blog. Soon, family, friends and neighbors began reaching out to me, asking me to take their photos. Within the first year, I photographed dozens of children and families, and booked my first wedding--all by word of mouth. Over a decade later, I've upgraded my gear A LOT and fine-tuned my skills. I've photographed hundreds of children and families; dozens of weddings, commercial clients, real estate properties, births and funerals.

Photographers are always telling other photographers to specialize--just focus on one thing and only that one thing--but I truly love it all. Maybe the day will come when I narrow my focus, but for now, I'm pretty much up for anything. So give me a call or drop me a line! I'd love to capture what matters most to you.
